Lights is an installation / performance that consists of four light bulbs that each start a sound loop when they are turned on. The lights flash in sync with the loop they are playing. Lights was premiered at the Interactive Institute 10 year anniversary as an performance. Lights is currently only able to run in performance mode, but we plan to add an "installation" mode as well, so it also can be used as a music visualization.

Lights is written in c++ using openFrameworks. Erik Sjödin's addon cppGlue is used to handle input from the arduino and output to DMX. Ableton Live is used to play loops. MIDI from the openFrameworks application is used to start and stop loops, and Soundflower to internally route audio from Ableton to openFrameworks.
